The Must Reads

During the Christmas break, I took a little extra time out of my evenings to sit down with a good book. Reading is something I admittedly never do enough of, but whenever I get back into it I remember exactly why I enjoy it so much. Through my recent reading endeavors I discovered some real goodies, so if you're on the lookout for a few new, seriously awesome books to sink your teeth into, keep readin'...

How To Be Parisian Wherever You Are - Slotted within my December favourites, this book is the one for gals who fancy adding a little French chic into their lives. Covering style, beauty, attitude and nakedness, each page is filled with humorous, and frankly, bad ass opinions. The imagery alone is worth purchasing the book for, and I'm thoroughly glad I did. Only thing, it's left me seriously craving a trip to Paris... when's the next train?

#GirlBoss - The one you need to read if you require a good kick up the ass. #GirlBoss tells the story of NastyGal founder, Sophia Amoruso, revealing her journey to the stage of founder, CEO, and creative director of the very, very successful fashion retailer. Of course it's not an autobiography, yet Sophia's story of success along with her one-liners and advice result in a super motivating read. This one is all kinds of awesome.

Pretty Honest - The crémé de la crémé  of all beauty books. Pretty Honest was propelled into the lives of cosmetic lovers back in September last year, and since then I haven't been able to put it down. It's a book you can read numerous times without getting bored, and something I always reach for if I'm ever looking for beauty advice or a switch up in my day-to-day routine. Sali shares her wisdom and experiences on everything from makeup and skincare, to illness and good health - and it's much appreciated. The combination of her straight-talking advice and witty maner keeps readers thoroughly entertained and it's up there as one of my favourite books of all time. Beauty books can sometimes lack a little something something - Pretty Honest is the exception. If you're looking for a new read, pick up this, pronto.

What books have you been enjoying recently? Have you read any of my top picks?
