Summer Essentials.

Though it only seems like it was Christmas last week, the summer has rolled round (hurrah!) and with the sun beaming, what better time to post about my must-have beauty essentials of the season. I seriously dig this time of year. The days are longer, eating  ice cream is a necessity and I get one bad-ass tan (I kid, forever Snow White). When it comes to my beauty routine, I like to keep things super dewy in the complexion department, and low maintenance everywhere else. So without further ado, allow me to spill the product-shaped beans...

You've gotta keep those puckers soft and supple under the currant bun, and for this I like to use the Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm. It may be eye wateringly pricey but it is very good indeed.

To add the glow factor to my face, the ESPA Naturally Radiant Tinted Moisturiser* is an absolute essential. Hydrating with a hint of coverage and SPF all rolled into one beautifully packaged product? Yes please.

For gorgeously fluttery lashes, Benefit's Roller Lash Mascara is the one. Check out my full review here, but to sum it up, this baby will give you a set that are perfectly curled, perfectly separated and perfect for those daytime errands.

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette is not only lovely to look at (duh?!), but a marvelous summer product. Admittedly I've never been much of a blush kinda gal... until I added this to my stash, that is. If you're a fan of natural, radiant and build-able powders then I'd definitely suggest you check this out.

I love a good brightening product, and the Good Things Face Manuka Honey Radiance Face Mask* is just that. White Clay and Beeswax work to both extract and hydrate, leaving your complexion glowy and clear. It's also includes natural ingredients and is under £6, so for that, it gets a big thumbs up from me.

If you're a regular reader of my little space on the internet, you'll know I have a slight obsession with The Body Shop. You may remember my post last summer on the brand's Pink Grapefruit Body Sorbet, and, unsurprisingly I dig it just as much this time round. Not only does it thoroughly moisturise the skin, but its light, sorbet texture means it's incredibly cooling when applied, making it perfect for those sunny days. Plus, it smells awesome. Need I say anymore?

As a dry skinned lady, Time Bomb's Complexion Cocktail* is a complete miracle. With a shot of H2O, it smooths and hydrates the skin,  resulting in the perfect canvas for your foundation and concealer. Expect to see a full review of this delight very soon.

For those barely-there face kinda days, the Clarins Light Lip Balm Perfector earns a prime spot in my handbag. Having said that, it does most days. Essentially a tinted lip balm, this gives a gorgeous hint of colour, working well both on its own and when worn over lipstick.

Naturally I'm going to talk about SPF as we rejoice over a warmer climate, and Soap & Glory's Make Yourself Youthful Facial Sunshield Superfluid is not only a complete mouthful of a title, but a real goody. SPF 50+, the product offers high, though lightweight, protection from both UVA and UVB rays. Get the 411 with my post, here.

Basically, this stuff is summer in a bottle. I'm sure you''ll have read a thing or two about the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess range, and the Eau Fraîche Skinscent is well worth talking aboutA blend of coconut, mandarin, vanilla and tropical flowers, with one spritz you'll be instantly transported to a tropical, Mediterranean beach. Metaphorically speaking, of course. Check out my review here.

What are your summer essentials? I'd love to hear your recommendations.

What I Got For My Birthday.

On Monday I celebrated my 22nd Birthday. I had a splendid day, ate far too much and was seriously spoilt, and since I really enjoy reading these kind of posts, I thought I would type up my own showing you what I received.

Like any gal, I love me a bit of Lush. You may know I'm seriously hooked on Dream Cream, (review here) so a brand spanking new tub was much appreciated. I'm yet to try the self-preserving formula so I'm looking forward to giving it a whirl. As a lipstick addict I was also thrilled to receive the Popcorn Lip Scrub, which, as I'm sure you can imagine, smells very pleasant.

Speaking of good smells, from being introduced to the Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 fragrance in my Liberty London Advent Calendar, (check out my post here) my addiction to the delightful stuff meant I was without a bottle. I'm very happy to say this is no longer the case and I'm now smelling pretty damn fine if I do say so myself.

Naturally, Bumble & Bumble goodness was a response when asked what I would like for my Birthday. Though I still have a fair amount of the Surf Creme Rinse Conditioner sitting in my bathroom (review here - it rocks, fyi), my locks have been craving my long-time love, the Seaweed Mild Marine Shampoo. This smells amazing, looks amazing and is amazing. You can read up on its skills, here. A few samples were also thrown into the mix, so I shall be enjoying those, too.

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap is one guaranteed way to keep my makeup brushes content. The almond scent is all kinds of awesome, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the peppermint offering compares. Side note: Is the fact I'm looking forward to washing my makeup brushes a sign of an early-developed, granny life now I'm 22? Damn.

I was kindly sent a gorgeous parcel earlier in the year from Benefit Cosmetics. The Roller Lash Mascara quickly earned a top spot in my makeup bag, however all that over-use meant I was in dire need of a replacement. Voila - my eyelashes are again in a happy, perfectly curled place.

To hide my horrific eye-bags from all that 22-going-on-95 partying, (I kid) the Clarins Instant Concealer is a dream. I've read a lot about this stuff over recent months and from using the past two days alone, I can see definitely the hype. Expect a review very soon.

What better way to finish off all this beauty-shaped chat, than to mention Origins. The Ginzing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer is, frankly, bloody amazing stuff (review here). The brand are currently offering a 75ml pot worth £34.50 for just £25, so my skin is going to be feeling lush for quite some time. The Make A Difference Plus + Rejuvenating Moisturizer is again, amazing and worth every single penny. Check my mini review, here, but I will be posting a more detailed post, stat.

I was also kindly given money for me to treat myself to a few bits. Illamasqua Cream Hollow Pigment, Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette and Urban Decay everythangg are seriously tempting me...

So there we have it. The beauty-obsessed side of me is feeling very excited with all these new treats, but for now, it's back to knitting...

What beauty bits have you got your eyes on?
