Diptyque Baies Candle

Diptyque has been on my 'to-try' list for a short eternity, so thanks to the Liberty London Advent Calendar (seriously the best early Christmas present ever - thanks Santa!), the morning of the 25th December brought along a very special treat.

When it comes to home fragrance, I'm all over anything warm, spicy and seriously festive, so the addition of Baies to my candle collection was something totally stand-out from my usual choice. Described as 'bouquet of blackcurrant leaves and Bulgarian rose', Baies is an incredibly feminine, beautiful scent. Blending floral and fruity notes it's both gentle and soothing, and despite the combination often bringing a sickly sweet outcome the scent is anything but, filling the home with a fresh, luxurious aroma.

Despite it's high price tag, the candle boasts up to 30 hours of burning time, so you sure do get your money's worth. Before each use, it's always best to check and if necessary, trim the wick, as doing so will allow the candle to burn more slowly (about half a centimetre length wise is what you want to aim for).

Baies remains one of Diptyque's best selling fragrances, and something I can see myself continuously purchasing in the future. Although I almost always tend to go for winter fragrances, I'm really pleased I've had the chance to try this as it's shown me that not all floral based scents are overly sweet. If you're on the lookout for a new candle - Baies is your guy.

Have you tried Diptyque? Do you have a favourite scent from the brand?
