Clothes Show Live 2013

On Monday, I attended Clothes Show Live as a part of the Capital FM blog team.

Prior to this, I'd been only once before around nine years ago, so I was intrigued as to how it would compare. Makeup and clothing galore, the event is perfect for girly girls interested in looking good. 2013 marked the 25th Anniversary of the show, which originated in 1989 after the highly successful, Clothes Show TV.

Over the years, the Clothes Show has attracted many a successful individual. Everyone from the Spice Girls to Amy Winehouse have performed, along with guests like Caryn Franklin, the original presenter of Clothes Show TV (who I interviewed, here), Fearne Cotton and Gok Wan. Along with the above, the event is very popular with reality TV stars. Everyone from TOWIE, Made In Chelsea and Big Brother flock to the event. Although I'm personally not a fan, it seemed to go down a treat with many of the attendees.

Many of the reality stars had their own stand at the event, ranging from fake tan, hair extensions and clothing. If, like me, this isn't your scene, then there are plenty of other stalls to take your fancy. Popular brands such as Glamourous, Love, Abercrombie and Fitch were all present, along with a whole load'a vintage goodness.

Diet Coke came along and added a little bit of fun and fancy dress to the event with photo booths. There was no need to bring your own props - they had that one sorted.

Unfortunately I didn't manage to see the main show in the fashion theatre, I did however watch a couple of other catwalks that took place during the day. The first featured the final contestants from this years series of Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model. The latter, this time sponsored by Diet Coke, showed creations designed by graduate students which was obviously a great way of promoting young, emerging designers.

Overall I enjoyed my day at Clothes Show and I'd like to thank Capital FM North East for inviting me to attend as a part of the blog team.

Did you pay a visit to CSL this year?
