January Favourites

The fact we're now into the month of February is just plain scary, no? With that in mind, it's time for me to share the things that were rocking my world throughout January. The festive season resulted in a fair few beauty bits entering my life thanks to Santa, so this is definitely a heavily beauty orientated favourites post...

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette - No words can describe how much I love this palette, no words. I was lucky enough to receive this for Christmas and I genuinely haven't been able to put it down since. If a glowy, lit from within complexion is your kinda thing, you need this in your life. The three powders, Dim Light, Incandescent Light (palette exclusive) and Radiant Light are described as a personal lighting system, designed to both manipulate and filter out imperfections. Basically, I'm obsessed. At £56 it's not exactly cheap, but the palette is so ridiculously fabulous that it's worth every penny. The powders are so finely milled and pigmented, you can't even tell just how often I've been reaching for it (everyday, if you're wondering) so I know it's going to be sticking around my make up drawer for quite some time.

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 - I recently wrote a review on this so if you fancy checking that out head over here. I received this within my Liberty London Advent Calendar and it was love at first spritz. I don't think I've ever been quite so obsessed with a perfume, it's so unique to anything else I own. Subtle, sensual and woody all in one, it's single molecule results in a different scent on all who wear it. I've been sporting this pretty much non-stop the past month so I will definitely be picking up another bottle once it's empty.

Rituals Chakra Water Bed and Body Mist* - This is such a beautiful fragrance. With ingredients Indian Rose,Violet and Himalayan Honey, the mist is a real treat to spritz on the skin. I personally prefer to save it as a linen spray as I find doing so before I hit the sack helps me to relax and as a result, doze off a lot quicker. If warm, uplifting scents are your thing then I'd definitely recommend giving this a try.

#GirlBoss - I mentioned this on my recent 'Must Reads' post, so you may already know how much I adore this book. If I ever need a good dose of motivation, this is what I look to. Witty, addictive and just plain bad ass.

Real Techniques Cheek brush (exclusive to the Nic's Picks set) - I'd hunted high and low for this set for weeks after hearing the face brushes were the perfect companions for my Hourglass Palette. After a lovely woman in Boots offered to check the stock room and appeared with one in hand, I had to genuinely restrain myself from hugging her. Lame, I know. The set is just as I expected and I'm so glad I managed to pick one up. Whilst all five brushes are awesome, I'm particularly enjoying the Cheek Brush as it picks up colour beautifully, allowing you to build to the finish you want to achieve. This brush and my Hourglass palette are now true BFFs.

Nspa Beauty Balm* - The days I'm not so keen on sitting and applying my foundation, I reach for this. Created in mind of those who enjoy the natural, post-glow of a facial, the beauty balm adds hydration whilst concealing blemishes. My skin seems to love anything that holds Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E, and this is no exception. At £6 it's a complete bargain and thanks to the quality, feels as though it would be something closer to triple the price. I would definitely recommend picking this one up.

Cheap Monday Glasses - A random addition to a favourites post filled with beauty treats, but I have been seriously loving my new Cheap Monday specs. Doing a Journalism degree + blogging + being a YouTube addict has left my eyes a little worse for wear, so glasses have proven to be a total savour. I spent some time picking out a pair in Specsavers but settled on trusty Cheap Monday as they had a great range of trendy styles. Plus, 25% student discount which is a winner in my newly spectacle covered eyes.

What things have you been enjoying this past month? Is there anything I should be adding to my list?
