Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry

The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms have been out for quite some time now. From the moment they launched among the shelves of Boots, I was itching to get my mitts on one colour, and one colour only. Sure, the whole collection was made up of a beautiful colour range, but due to the recent 'lip crayon' hype, I already had quite the stash in my draw. 'Sultry', or '225' if we're being specific here, is a brown-pink shade with hints of plum - the perfect alternative to the classic red. After seeing swatches on a number of blogs, I knew it would be a great addition to my collection.

Clearly I wasn't the only one dying to try, as it took me around three weeks to hunt one down. And no, that really isn't an exaggeration. Still feeling a little over cheerful about the fact I managed to purchase, I brought it out of the bag as soon as I returned home. And to be totally honest, I was a little disappointed. The colour was patchy, bleeding around my lip line within minutes of application. Not great. A few days later I decided to give it another try. Originally I'd applied to the lips with a light patting method, in attempt to build up the colour. This time round, however, I applied straight from the tube. Although there was still a little chance of bleeding occurring (nothing a good lip liner can't solve) it looked like a different product completely. Smooth, velvety and pigmented.

I find Sultry wears on my lips for around four hours before I need to think about re-applying. Once food and drinks come into contact, however, it comes away almost instantly, so it's best to keep the product in your bag when you're on the go. Containing a 'triple butter complex' of shea, mango and coconut butter, the crayons are significantly more moisturising on the lips than others I've tried, meaning priming with a lip balm isn't required.

Overall I'm really impressed with this launch, and I'm still yet to find a lip product from Revlon that I don't get along with. Are you a fan of the Matte Balms?
