Lush Additions.

Visits to Lush never end all that well for me. The whole, 'go in for one thing, come out with five' policy is how I seemingly roll with the store. Last week, I innocently popped in to pick up a Dreamtime Bath Melt (y'know, since I'm a granny and all that jazz), and ended up with a basket full of goodies - oops. *fyi, now is your moment to reassure me and tell me you too have an out of control addiction to all things Lush*. So what did I purchase?..

As mentioned, I did originally just nip in to snap up a Dreamtime Bath Melt (£3.35), as I'd heard marvelous things in the virtual blogging world. Dreamtime is designed in mind of peeps who struggle to nod of come the evenings. With ingredients like chamomile, lavender and ginger, you can guarantee a bath that only smells like, well, a dream, but leaves your skin soft and smooth.

Butterball (£2.65) was another bath edition that I'd had on my wishlist for a while, so naturally it had to come home with me. The bath bomb is a must-try for those with sensitive and dehydrated skin, with cocoa butter and ylang ylang two of the six ingredients. It certainly didn't take me long to give this a whirl, and I have to say, it really is all kinds of awesome. Those with Keratosis Pilaris should definitely take note as I found the backs of my arms were visibly clearer after use.

For lovers of bubbles and relaxing scents, A French Kiss (£4.25) will be right up your street. As the product's appearance may suggest, lavender is the key ingredient, making it the perfect pre-slumber treat (that kind of unintentionally rhymed, no?). Keeping in line with the theme of this haul, A.F.K. is both soothing whilst adding some serious hydration to the body. Big thumbs up from me.

Ok, you got me. I may have cheated a little here, as two of  the products featured in this here post are in fact, already discussed in my recent birthday haul. Very naughty indeed, but I thought I would throw them in this write up for those who are exclusively looking for Lush-shaped rambles...

Dream Cream (£11.95) has been a favourite of mine for around a year now. Not only is it a kick-ass moisturiser, but it also happens to be a god send for those with Keratosis Pilaris - a.k.a. - me. It smooths and calms the skin like no other, and a tub will last you an eternity. This time round I'm testing the 'self-preserving' formula, which is slightly thicker, more heavy-duty than the original offering. If you're on the market for a new body cream - hit this up, stat.

As a self-confessed lipstick hoarder and addict, incorporating a lip scrub into my daily routine is a necessity, and where better to look for such thing, than Lush. I've tried a few versions of the product now, with the Popcorn Lip Scrub (£5.50) the latest (and perhaps, greatest?). Apply first thing before your balm and colour and you can wave buh-bye to a flakey pout, and hello to a smooth and ready to rock base. Also, I can't not mention the taste.... just remember it's a lip scrub and not a lunchtime snack, 'kay?

Again another deliciously smelling, deliciously tasting (...) product. The Mask of Magnaminty (£5.50) is the one to try if you're looking for a clearer, softer and overall brighter complexion. Not only does it really work, but it's a complete pleasure to use. Oh, and if you're wondering about the scent, think mint chocolate ice cream. I rest my case.

Now I may be stocked up on some Lush 'essentials', but that doesn't mean I still don't have a wishlist the length of my arm. The Twilight Bath Bomb and It's Raining Men Shower Gel are two of many that I plan to add to my stash very soon.

Are you a fan of Lush? Do you have any recommendations for me to try?

  3. I love Lush but I don't buy them because of the price and also I don't really take baths right now. I'm waiting til I get my own place then I can have my own tub. Also, some of their products have parabens..

    1. I'm such a bath addict! I think whilst the products are quite steep in price, the likes of the body moisturisers and lip scrubs last a really long time so you definitely get value for money in the long run x

  4. Don't worry, I'm addicted to Lush too! I'm planning to go up to Oxford Street soon, and I'll have to seriously restrain myself from buying one of ev-er-y-thing :') Dream Cream sounds divine, and you've reminded me of my love of Butterball, so I'll add those two to my evergrowing list! x
