Top 6 Lip Products

Lipsticks are probably my favourite beauty product. I have a ridiculous number of them so I thought I would show y'all my top six.  Although high end lip colours are awesome and luxurious, you can definitely get some great alternatives for a fraction of the price.

*Before I start rambling on - I'm gonna apologise for the atrocious quality of these photos. I wasn't actually sure whether to upload this post as I hate them that much! My iPhone 5 is my current blogging camera so it's not the best for producing clear, crisp photography. I have my eye on the Canon 600D as I know a lot of bloggers swear by it, along with the fact that it has a in-built video camera (hello YouTube) but if you fellow bloggers have any camera recommendations then please let me know!*

Kicking things off - I'm wearing the No7 shade. No7 isn't a brand that I normally consider when it comes to browsing for makeup in the aisles of Boots, but I really love this lipstick so I'm definitely gonna be checking it out more often. What I love about this product is how comfortable it feels on the lips. It's incredibly moisturising, and actually feels more like a tinted balm than a lipstick. The colour itself is also really beautiful. For pale gals like myself this is a must have colour for the A/W season. Go forth and pick it up!

This baby is proof that you don't have to spend a wad of cash to get a kickass lipstick. The Barry M 151 Lip Paint was my go-to shade through the Summer. This looks bangin' with a tan but also works pretty well with pale skin. The only hang-up I have with this lipstick is the fact that it's incredibly drying on the lips. Make sure you pop on some of that nipple balm underneath and you'll be ready to rock and roll.

// YSL Glossy Stain in shade 22 //

If you're looking for a vampy lip colour then this is where it's at. The YSL Glossy Stains combine the impact of a bold colour with a glossy finish. Not the easiest to apply; the gooey formula combined with the deep berry tone means it's easy to make mistakes - it definitely requires both patience and a steady hand, but once you've got the hand of it you'll never take it off! This is the most expensive of my top six, with the GLS retailing at £23.50, however I've had mine ages now and it's still going strong.
// Mac Matte texture Lipstick in shade Russian Red //

This is my go-to lipstick if I want to look like I've made an effort. This shade looks awesome on fair skinned ladies (or guys, if that kinda thing floats your boat...) due to it's blue-based undertone. Russian Red is placed in the Matte variation of Mac lipstick so it is quite drying after a couple of hours of application, but nothing a bit of balm can't solve. If you're heading out with RR on those smackers of yours, then it's advisable to take a compact mirror along with you - it smudges quite easily. At £15, it's not cheap, but it's lasted me over a year so I think it works out to be pretty reasonable.

// Mac Cremesheen texture lipstick in shade Creme Cup //

Nude lipsticks are something I can struggle with as a fair skinned chick. They can easily wash me out so it can be quite tricky to find one to suit me. Mac's Creme Cup is one of the only few that I've actually managed to find that flatter my skin-tone! Within the Creme Sheen collection, CC is a hell of a lot more moisturising than Russian Red. The combination of a glossy finish and a creamy consistency is always a winner in my eyes. A classic lipstick that everyone needs in their collection.

// Rimmel Apocalips in shade Apocalips //

If you like the sound of the Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Lip Stains but not so much the price, then may I introduce you to Rimmel Apocalips. Kay, not so much an introduction as they've been out for a while now, but boy, they are greaaaaaaaaat! I actually find the formula of the Apocalips more manageable than the YSL creation due to the fact it's slightly thicker (less on the gloopy side). The wand is actually pretty impressive too which you don't often find with cheaper lip products. I can get about four hours wear of this before I need to touch up, and it pretty much stays put the entire time so I don't need to worry about having pink smudged on my cheek. Rimmel have also just brought out a new variety of shades in the Apocalips range - 'Aurora' come at me! At £6.49, what's not to love?

I hope you've enjoyed reading this post - apologies again for the poor quality photos!

What are your top lip products? Are there any that I need to be adding to my collection?
