My Skincare Routine

Skincare is something I'm a big fan of. Although I've always been pretty lucky with my skin, I've always enjoyed trying out new products and treatments. My general routine isn't exactly 'small', and I certainly don't use all of these each day, but in comparison to other gal's routines I've seen it's pretty darn basic.

Until recently, I was using the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish to cleanse, and although I do agree with the hype, I was wanting to try Bioderma so I moved straight onto that. I'd never actually double-cleansed before using Bioderma, as it's the first micellar solution that I've used - however it's definitely worth while as it ensures that every last scrape of makeup is taken off. I find teaming it with the Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel makes for the perfect combination as my skin is left feeling really soft and hydrated. I apply Bioderma first - applying to a cotton pad and wiping over both my face and eyes and then follow up with the Clarins; rubbing the gel in the palm of my hands to warm and then massaging into the skin.

After rinsing off, I then follow up with the Liz Earle Instant Tonic, applied with a cotton pad. I then finish off by applying the Origins Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturiser. This does a really great job at brightening up tired and dull looking skin.

On an evening I add a couple of extra things to my routine. I repeat the steps from the morning, however in between toner and moisturiser, I pat on the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum. I've gone through a couple of samples of this stuff and am totally loving it so I definitely need to pick up a full sized bottle. Again it's really great at hydrating the skin and is also designed to improve skin imperfections whilst also containing anti-aging properties - so all in all a must have. I don't want to overdue it with my skin, so occasionally I will apply a facial oil in place of the ANR as putting on both will most likely result in my skin breaking out.

Twice a week I give my skin a good scrub, something that is well needed now that the weather is turning colder. I tend to chop and change between two - the Elemis Fresh Skin Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash* (mouthfull and a half!) and the Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator. I don't actually use the Elemis as a face wash, as I prefer to cleanse separately, but both scrubs do a really good job at bringing the life back into your skin without being too harsh.

On the days I get scrub-a-dub-dubbin', I also apply a face mask. I have quite a few for different problem areas, however these are the two I reach for the most. Origins Clear Improvements is an active charcoal mask which is designed to draw out all of the impurities from unclog pores. It basically draws out all of the dirt from under your skin, bringing it to the surface. I tend to just stick to applying this to my nose as the rest of my face doesn't really suffer from any congestion, and it's one of those awesome products where you can actually see results pretty quickly.

When things are looking a little dry, the Origins Drink Up Intensive becomes my best friend. This goes in place of my evening moisturiser - I apply a pea sized amount to my skin and leave to soak up overnight. In the morning I emerge with insanely soft skin. This is definitely a must-have for the colder months if your skin is prone to becoming dry, tight or flaky.

For my lips my go-to products have to be Lush's Lip Scrub which is brilliant at sorting out dry/chapped pouts and Dr. Lipp's Nipple Balm, which also does a grand job at keeping them (by ''them'' I do mean lips, not my nipples FYI...) soft.

I'm wanting to add an eye-cream to my routine, and since I'm such an Origins buff I think I'm gonna give the Eye Doctor a whirl - there's no harm is starting early with eye-cream I suppose!

Have any of you got any eye-creams that you would recommend?
