Empties #1

I've never actually done a post of this topic before, however I have always enjoyed reading them. Therefore, I have decided to jump on the bandwagon and feature 'empties' posts on my blog.
The products you see before your eyes are most likely things you will have seen/read about before. However there is most likely a reason for this; each and every one of them are good in different ways.
Tresemme Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo I love a bit of dry shampoo, it's a quick and easy way of adding volume and life to hair that's a little greasy and flat. I don't wash my hair everyday; I just don't feel the need to, and it's supposedly 'better' for your locks. In fact, I don't always wash it every other day either. I probably sound like a major scruff saying this, but my hair just doesn't require me to most of the time! This is when the dry shampoo comes in handy. Hair that is due to be washed that day that just needs a little something to take away the minimal grease. I've tried a few dry shampoos in my time and this is one of the best. It's super light which means you don't need to excessively rub through your hair to blend it in. The smell is subtle and inoffensive, however it is priced slightly higher than it's competitors on the market, at £4.79. You can pick this up pretty much everywhere but I got mine in Boots.
Umberto Giannini Rock 'n' Rock Extreme Spray I have quite a few products in my collection from this range, and this is one of my new staples. I was given this in a set for Christmas and fell in love with it straight away. One thing that I, and I'm guessing everyone hates about hairspray is the horrific, chemical scent that you can taste in the back of your throat. Yuck. Well this product has non of that, and instead smells really delicious! The spray in itself is actually quite light, which really impressed me as the hold it gives is great. It also gives hair added texture which is something I really liked. It's priced at £5.61 which to be honest I have no problem parting with when it gives such good results. You can buy Umberto Giannini products from all over, however I'm guessing the gift set I received was from Boots, but I'm not sure if it's on sale anymore).
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Toner has never been a product that I've used religiously in my skincare routine. I first tried it when I was about 14 years old, when my Mum kindly purchased me a skincare set from a certain high-end skincare brand. The results weren't great. To be completely honest, they were horrific Within less than a week, the toner ruined my skin, I had severe dry patches covering my entire face. I sort of wish I had a photo to show how bad the results actually were, but at the same time it would be gross so it's probably for the best! After visiting my beautician I was made aware that a ingredient in the product was also in toilet bleach.
So that product went straight into the bin, and I've only tried one or two since. I received this bottle of the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic in the advent calendar, and was rather curious as to how it would react with my skin. I've actually since gone through two bottles of the stuff, so I guess that suggests I liked it? I used this in combination with the rest of the cleanse, tone and moisturise regime so I don't think I can really write a fair review on the results it has on its own. However I did enjoy using it and it was very gentle on the skin. It's priced at £12.50 which to be honest I think is fairly reasonable for the high end product your receiving. I actually think the toner my Mum bought me when I was 14 was more expensive than this so there you go!
Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray This is pretty much a cult product within the blogging community. So many bloggers have tried it and sung its praises, and yes, I am one of them. This was the first surf spray I'd ever tried, so I wasn't entirely sure whether I would like it or not. I have naturally thick and wavy hair, however sometimes it needs a bit more texture to it, and this really fit the bill. I tend to tip my hair upside down, spray and then scrunch it in. When I stand up I have the beachy volume and texture I desire. You can also do this to damp hair, however I personally prefer the results when my hair is dry. Some people may be put of by the salt scent, but I actually really like it as it reminds me of holidays! It is quite expensive, and there are cheaper alternatives on the market, however I've not actually tried them so I can't comment on the comparison. Lily from ETC LLYMLRS has done quite a few reviews of salt spray on both her blog and Youtube channel, so it may be worth checking them out. I purchased mine in Space NK for £20.50.
Benefit The POREfessional I received this as a sample in Glamour Magazine back in 2012, but to be honest I didn't actually get round to trying it until a while later. The aim of the flesh-tone balm is to minimise the appearance of pores along with smoothing and evening out the skin. I've never really felt the need to use a primer, however I thoroughly enjoyed using this! I find it to be a brilliant base for makeup, and when used underneath foundation makes the skin look flawless. I tend to apply with my fingers, focusing both on, and around the nose area, as that's where my most visible pores can be found! I personally think the product is quite expensive, retailing at £23.50. However regular buyers of Benefit products will most likely be unsurprised by this, as it is in fitting with the rest of the prices of the brand.
The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter I've been using The Body Shop Body Butters for years, as they're overall brilliant moisturisers. There's so many scents to choose from, which makes them even more special. The current one I'm using is chocolate, and I think it's my new favourite? As they're such a famed product, I don't really think I need to say much here, however if you fancy reading a little bit more then have a read of my full review, here
The White Company Winter Candle Recently I've developed a slight addiction to candles. I think it may have come from the fact they are constantly burning around my family home. My Mum is a huge fan of The White Company, and this seems to have rubbed off onto me. The Winter scent from The White Company is absolutely beautiful. You may be wondering why I'm bothering to review it now as it's past Christmas? Well although it does have a Winter vibe to it, it doesn't instantaneously make you think of Christmas. Featuring a combination of spicy cinnamon and clove and zesty orange, the scent is warm and comforting. The candle above is actually on sale at the minute on the website, down to £18 from £20; so if you're interested in trying it out, now's your time to do so! It's probably worth mentioning that I'm currently burning The White Company Pomegranate candle, which is equally as scrumptious for the nose.
The Body Shop Honey and Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask I'm generally not a fan of '3-in-1' products, there's no particular reason for this, but I just prefer to do each stage using individual products. However this has really changed my mind on the matter. Promising to cleanse, polish and moisturise the skin, you apply and let it do it's magic for 10 minutes. When rinsed off, my face looks both fresh and radiant, as though I've just stepped out of a spa. The skin always feels incredibly soft after use, too. A little goes a long way with this product, and it's lasted me absolutely ages! You can purchase both on and offline, and The Body Shop currently have a 50% saving on the scrub, resulting in it only costing £5. Add to basket, perhaps?

  5. Definitely will be trying The tresemme dry ahmpoo and the surf spray! My hair is desperate for a little bit of a lift and the surf spray sounds great!

I haven't tried POREfessional but have been considering it for a while. I was close to buying it recently until the lady at the counter went for the more aggressive sales tactics. Decided not to boost her sales and just left it but think I might go back and have another look at it!

  6. Tresemme Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo is my favourite dry shampoo of a time.
I really like the The Body Shop Honey and Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask mostly for the scent, as I don't feel like it's doing anything to my skin. Love empties posts. xo
